BATON ROUGE - Due to dense fog Tuesday morning, LSU men's and women's basketball were not able to attend the SEC Tip-Off media day in Birmingham. Instead, both head coaches and players met with the media virtually to give updates on their team.

LSU men's basketball has already played one exhibition game, a win over McNeese last Thursday. Since then, the LSU Athletics website has officially listed 10 players on the men's roster.

Wade expects more players to be granted eligibility before the regular season starts Nov. 3. He told the media in September that LSU has been practicing with 15 players.

Wade confirmed that former St. John's guard RJ Luis will not be on the team. This comes after the legal battle between LSU and the SEC that affected Lane Kiffin's football team. Because Luis signed a professional contract, he is not eligible to play by SEC rules.

“If it doesn’t work, you can pin it right on me. But we feel very confident about the group, and we feel very confident about the guys that we have. With our full roster, we have a puncher’s chance in most games," Wade said on the SEC Network.

As for the LSU women's team, they will feature six new players and five returners. Of those returners, three of them were among LSU's leading scorers last season.

Notable players include seniors Mikaylah Williams, MiLaysia Fulwiley and sophomore ZaKiyah Johnson. New additions that are expected to make an impact are point guard Jada Williams, Laila Reynolds and freshman guard Lola Lampley.

"What I have enjoyed since we've started practice is we work hard. We've always had teams that work hard, but there's something about this bunch that is extremely cohesive," head coach Kim Mulkey said.

LSU men's basketball will host UCF for an exhibition game on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Maravich Center. The Tiger women's team will host UNT Dallas on Oct. 22 for their first exhibition game, also at 7 p.m.

The regular season starts Nov. 2 when Mulkey's squad hosts Southeastern, and Nov. 3 when Wade's team hosts LSU-New Orleans.
