PRAIRIEVILLE — A Prairieville resident won $2 million during the Oct. 5 Powerball drawing after purchasing a ticket from Delaunes Supermarket on La. 431 in Saint Amant.
Charles Moore matched all five white ball numbers along with the Power Play option he purchased for an extra dollar, doubling his winnings.
Moore claimed his prize at the lottery's Baton Rouge headquarters on Oct. 7, taking home $1,460,010.22 after state and federal tax withholdings.
“We want to extend a huge congratulations to Mr. Moore on this life-changing win,” said Rose Hudson, Lottery President. “We’re always happy to see a Louisiana resident win big on this multistate game.”
The Louisiana Lottery encourages players to sign the back of their tickets immediately after purchasing to protect their claim.
