BATON ROUGE — Residents weighed in on the future of the city's infrastructure tonight as the Capital Region Planning Commission hosted the first of four scheduled public meetings for the MOVE 2050 plan.

Building on the foundation of the ongoing MOVE BR initiative, the newly released draft outlines a 25-year vision aimed at expanding and modernizing roads, transit and overall mobility across the parish.

Attendees at Wednesday's session expressed optimism about the proposed developments, citing hope for faster commutes and safer roadways.

Members of the public will have three more opportunities to review the draft and submit comments as the commission continues its round of public meetings over the coming weeks.
