BATON ROUGE — Geo Next Generation High School Athletic Director, Dean of Students and head girls basketball coach Michael Ingram has died, the school said on social media. 

Ingram's death was announced on the Geo Next Generation Boys Basketball team's Facebook on Thursday.

"Coach Ingram was a true leader, mentor, and pillar of our school community who impacted countless lives through his guidance and service. His commitment to excellence and genuine care for students and staff set the standard for all of us. His legacy will forever live on through the culture he helped build at Geo Next Generation High School," the post memorializing the coach and athletic director said.

According to the school's website, Ingram was entering his eighth year as athletic director.
