BAKER - A 20-year-old who killed his girlfriend before shooting himself died in a hospital Tuesday morning. 

The Baker Police Department said Brendon Ely shot his girlfriend, 24-year-old Kyra Hayes, at a home along Tristian Avenue on Monday morning. 

Hayes was declared dead at the scene, but Ely was taken to a hospital and died around 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Officers on the scene told WBRZ the shooting stemmed from domestic violence. Further details were not immediately available.
