Southern student organizes second line to the polls set on last early voting day with celebrity guest
BATON ROUGE - Tuesday marks the final day of early voting for the Nov. 3 midterm elections.
One Southern University student is putting his words into action. Political science senior Jaden York has organized a big voting rally.
More than 100 students will be bussed from Southern University to downtown for Second Line to the Polls, which will see the Human Juke Box lead the second line starting at 2 p.m. at the Louisiana Arts and Science Museum on South River Road.
The route will end at City Hall, where participants will be able to go inside and cast their ballots.

"Being a student at Southern University, I always took pride in the history of Southern University tradition. Growing up, I always wanted to give back to the community," York said. "The best way to give back is to make sure students get the proper resources to vote. Because your voice is your vote. At the end of the day, when you vote, that's when you're advocating for what you exactly need in your community, what's right for you."
There will also be a voter's rally in Rhorer Plaza behind City Hall right after votes are cast.
