BATON ROUGE — Two prominent names were yet to be listed among candidates for a U.S. Senate seat from Louisiana as of Thursday afternoon, with incumbent Sen. Bill Cassidy and challenger Rep. Julia Letlow yet to enter the contest.

The three-day qualifying period expires at the close of business Friday for the May 16 primary. Several top races will have party primaries this year after lawmakers changed the way Louisiana chooses members of its congressional delegation and some state offices.
