2 Mexican nationals arrested in Breaux Bridge after agents find 300 pounds of meth in ice cream freezers
BREAUX BRIDGE — Federal agents seized more than 300 pounds of meth that was hidden in ice cream freezers and arrested two Mexican nationals, the U.S. Attorney's Office said Tuesday.
Federal prosecutors say the two men who were arrested, Ranulfo Garcia Rodriguez and Christian Antionio Sanchez Ramirez, were stopped while towing several ice cream freezers through the area. Inside the freezers were metal boxes welded to the back wall.
When they opened those boxes, federal agents found approximately 325 pounds of meth inside.
If convicted, Rodriguez and Ramirez could be sentenced to life in federal prison.
