DONALDSONVILLE — A boil water advisory was lifted after two water lines were accidentally damaged by a contractor in Donaldsonville. 

Parish Utilities of Ascension said that two water lines were damaged, with one of the lines being located between Mount Olive Church Road and Burns Drive.

Officials later said that a major water main broke, causing a boil water advisory to be issued for customers along Mount Olive Church Road to Delaney Road. 

On Saturday, the advisory was lifted as the necessary repairs had been completed.
