Baton Rouge Drug Take Back Day offers safe disposal for old prescription drugs
BATON ROUGE — Representatives from the local U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration joined Baton Rouge law enforcement on Saturday for a Drug Take Back Day event at the Baton Rouge Police Department headquarters.
The event, held twice a year, gave families an opportunity to clean out old, unused and unwanted prescription drugs and medications and turn them in for safe disposal.
This helps to prevent drugs from being stolen, abused or taken by accident. On Saturday, community members drove through the drop-off site as volunteers collected and properly disposed of unwanted drugs.
