ADDIS — Baton Rouge General gave flu shots at the A.C. Lewis YMCA today and will offer them at the Dow Westside YMCA from 8 to 11 a.m. Tuesday.

People need to bring a valid photo ID and an insurance card, but payment is available without insurance.

Organizers explained the goal is to make the shots easier to get.

"The goal is always to meet people where they are, and so this gives them an opportunity just to come while they're working out and just get their flu shot, knock that off their list for the year," Kelly Kyle, a spokesperson for the event, said.

Baton Rouge General will offer shots at several YMCA locations on the 8th, 12th and 13th of September.
