BATON ROUGE — The Baton Rouge Police Department is "actively investigating" the possible sexual assault of a city-parish employee at City Hall earlier this week. 

A BRPD spokesperson told WBRZ that the incident happened Wednesday and that no suspects have been identified. 

This is the second violent incident at City Hall in 10 months. In December 2025, a man armed with a knife was detained outside Mayor-President Sid Edwards' office.

Following this incident, two BRPD officers have been assigned full-time to City Hall. 

According to The Advocate, stiffer security will be put in place at City Hall's entrance after Wednesday's incident.
