Former Albany High teacher booked for sexual battery, indecent behavior with juvenile after 1st arrest

ALBANY - A former Albany High School teacher and wrestling coach is facing more charges after being arrested for inappropriate behavior involving students, the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office said.

According to the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office, 48-year-old Byron Humphrey was booked for more charges when more victims came forward following his first arrest. Humphrey, who was listed on Albany High School’s website as a wrestling coach, was initially arrested on March 18 for misdemeanor sexual battery.

Humphrey was booked for three counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile and one count of sexual battery. The Livingston Parish School System says he was terminated on March 13.
