BATON ROUGE — Louisiana residents could have the opportunity to have their design featured on a billboard throughout the state. 

The Gordon McKernan Injury Attorneys' fourth annual billboard competition officially began on Monday and participants can now submit their designs online through the Gordon McKernan website.

There will be three winners selected in both the child and adult categories. Winners from the adult category will receive gift cards ranging from $1,000 to $250, with the firm matching the winnings to donate to a charity of their choice. All three winners from the child category will receive $250 gift cards. 

McKernan Injury Attorneys will select the three finalists in the adult and child categories. The public will then vote to determine the first-, second-, and third-place winners for the adult category. 

"We started this competition as a way to give people across Louisiana a chance to have some fun and share their creativity," McKernan said in a prepared statement. "Every year, we see so many unique designs from talented people across the state. It's exciting to see what they create."

The designs must feature the official Gordon McKernan Injury Attorneys logo, which is available on the submission page. 

The deadline to submit is Sept. 20.
