BATON ROUGE - A man accused of raping an employee at Baton Rouge City Hall in one of the facility's bathrooms was booked into jail Monday.

Alfred Richardson, 67, was arrested in the assault that reportedly happened Sept. 16.

An arrest warrant says the victim told authorities that he entered the bathroom where he encountered 67-year-old Alfred Richardson, who allegedly asked for information on housing. The victim later met Richardson in the lobby , where he gave the man information on the East Baton Rouge Council on Aging, a business card and $20 from his wallet for bus fare.

Richardson then allegedly made sexual advances towards the victim before demanding that he go back into the bathroom. The victim told officers he complied out of fear that Richardson had a weapon.

While inside a bathroom stall, Richardson told the victim to perform sexual acts before forcing the victim to give him money, as he "provided [him] with a service." Detectives later collected DNA evidence from the bathroom.

The victim told authorities that Richardson called him afterwards and left a voicemail on his work phone, which was traced back to Richardson.

Richardson was booked for second-degree rape and simple robbery.
