BATON ROUGE — Our Lady of the Lake is seeking donors as its Blood Donor Center faces a critical need for blood.

The center urgently needs type O donors as its blood inventory enters critically low levels. Type O blood is often used in emergencies when there is not enough time to determine a patient's blood type. 

Blood donations are used to support patients treated for traumas, emergencies and procedures at Our Lady of the Lake facilities as well as at medical facilities across the Baton Rouge region. 

Residents of all blood types are encouraged to donate at Our Lady of the Lake Blood Donor Centers located on Hennesy Boulevard in Baton Rouge and along La. 30 in Gonzales.
