BATON ROUGE - Our Lady of the Lake showed construction progress on their regional center's $55 million Emergency Department Reimagination project.

OLOL said that the renovation will allow them to care for approximately 30,000 additional patients each year "in a space designed around how emergency care is delivered."

"With critical-care bays, dedicated treatment pods and faster access to imaging, surgery and intensive care, our teams will be able to move patients more efficiently through every stage of care," Medical Director of Emergency Services Mark Laperouse said.

In the meantime, the emergency department remains fully open and operation 24/7 throughout construction. More project updates are available here.
