JACKSON, Mississippi - Jackson State opened up The Boombox Classic with a three minute scoring drive that ended in a one-yard rushing touchdown by Nate Blount IV. 

Southern's first drive of the game ended in a field goal after an incomplete pass in the end zone. 

Jackson State made quick work of their second possession of the game with a 70-yard touchdown to wide receiver Nate Rembert extending their lead to 14-3 to end the first quarter. 

After a long drive in the second, Jackson State's, Blount IV gets in the endzone again, score is 21-3. 

The Jaguars first touchdown of the night was a one-yard rush by running back Trey Holly, and a missed extra point makes it 21-9. 

JSU scored again before the half with quarterback Jared Lockhart running into the endzone.

Jackson State Tigers go into halftime up 28-9. 

Halfway through the third quarter, Jags running back Mike Franklin hit his stride in the middle of the field, picking up a big 50-yard run and scoring a touchdown on the next play. A successful two-point conversion brought the score to 28-17.

With under three minutes to go, Jackson State added another touchdown to make the score 35-17.
