WHITE CASTLE — A White Castle woman accused of defrauding Medicaid has been arrested by the attorney general's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit.

Sharon Molden, 65, allegedly claimed to have provided services as a direct service worker on multiple dates and at times when she was either out of town and/or outside the state of Louisiana, the AG's office says. 

According to AG Liz Murril's office, Molden's Facebook account revealed her secondary employment with Primerica, with the account having several posts indicating that she was out of town or outside the state of Louisiana, conflicting with dates and times of Medicaid services she documented as having provided.

For example, on Feb. 12, 2023, Molden posted on Facebook with corresponding pictures, "Enjoying an All-Expense Paid Trip to Nassau Bahamas with Top Earners In the PRIMERICA Business!!" At the same time, she allegedly documented that she rendered Medicaid services from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the same date. Agents then obtained records to verify the trip, the AG's office added.

On Thursday, Molden surrendered to authorities and was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on medicaid fraud charges.
