NAPOLEONVILLE — A 17-year-old from Napoleonville was arrested on a felony charge connected to sharing a private image of a child without consent, according to the Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office.

According to Sheriff Leland Falcon, deputies responded to a call on Sept. 22 after a private image depicting a child under the age of 17 was shared through text and then posted to a social media app.

The complainant told deputies that the teenager came into possession of the image and sent it to another person via text. A third party then uploaded the image to the social media app.

Deputies forwarded the case to detectives, who continued the investigation and eventually arrested 17-year-old Aiden Claude Lemoine, of Napoleonville. Lemoine was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on a charge of non-consensual disclosure of a private image, and has since posted a $25,000 commercial bond to be released.

The investigation remains ongoing and additional arrests are possible.
