GREENSBURG - Officials in St. Helena Parish were awarded a $10,000 grant to revitalize a run-down portion of the parish jail.

The St. Helena Parish Sheriff's Office said the money, from the Lieutenant Governor's Office and the Keep Louisiana Beautiful Program, will revitalize the part of the jail that's on the courthouse square. Part of the money will be used for a mural on the jail wall.

“This grant award represents an active partnership with KLB that will help us uphold our responsibility to do the right thing for the environment and community and to assist us in our efforts to Keep St. Helena Beautiful," Sheriff Clay Chutz said.
