DENHAM SPRINGS - Denham Springs High School has a new $6.7 million athletic field house on its campus.

The facility includes a weight room, locker room, equipment, and indoor and outdoor suites. A ribbon-cutting was held ahead of the school's first home football game.

The new field house is part of an improvement plan that has been in the works since 2021. It was funded through a voter-approved property tax extension.

The school has also repositioned and resurfaced its football and soccer fields and built new baseball and softball complexes. A new track and field facility and a practice area for the marching band were also added as part of the plan.
