INDEPENDENCE — A vehicle pursuit by a partner agency ended near La. Highway 1065 and Riverwood Drive, prompting a heavy law enforcement presence in the area, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office said.

According to deputies, the activity included a search for the vehicle's occupants following the pursuit.

Two individuals were taken into custody in connection with the pursuit, police said. Residents were expected to see a reduction in law enforcement activity in the area shortly after.
