PLATTENVILLE – The Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office arrested a man after he allegedly resisted deputies who tried to arrest him on felony drug charges.

According to deputies, 30-year-old Chet Ourso was pulled over on Sept. 9 while driving along La. 308 near Paincourtville. When deputies began questioning Ourso, they could smell "a pungent odor of suspected marijuana" from his car.

Deputies then searched Ourso's car and found alprazolam—also known as Xanax. 

On Tuesday night, Ourso was located and deputies began trying to arrest him. During this, Ourso resisted arrest, but was eventually booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on drug and resisting arrest charges.
