BRPD: 22-year-old dead, one critically injured after crash along Perkins Road
BATON ROUGE — One person is dead and another is critically injured after a crash along Perkins Road between Bluebonnet Boulevard and Essen Lane on Tuesday morning.
The two-car crash happened around 7:25 a.m. near Bles Avenue, officials told WBRZ. Police said Malachi Antoine, 22, died in the hospital.
The Baton Rouge Police Department said a Chevrolet Impala was traveling eastbound on Perkins Road at a high rate of speed when it ran off the road to the right, struck the curb and overturned into a Dodge Ram.
First responders, including the Baton Rouge Police Department, Baton Rouge EMS, the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office and the St. George Fire Department, were called to the scene.
