BRPD issues warrant for alleged semitruck parts burglar from Texas
BATON ROUGE — Baton Rouge Police have issued an arrest warrant for 20-year-old Dajun Rayvond Arnez Stcyr, a Texas man they allege burglarized a dozen 18-wheeler semitrucks last month.
Police responded early Sept. 9 to a complaint that someone had burglarized 12 trucks at Coastal Truck Driving School on North Flannery Road. The dozen trucks each had a common powertrain controller stolen from inside, according to authorities.
Video footage shows a dark-colored Honda Civic on the scene about 4:51 a.m.—the same suspect vehicle involved in several other 18 wheeler burglaries in St John, Ascension and Calcasieu parishes on the same date.
Later that same day, Houston Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that detectives had been investigating in connection with several thefts in the Houston-area. During the stop, police detained Stcyr—from Humble, Texas—as well as two co-defendants, who authorities have not named.

When the vehicle was searched, police found 36 common powertrain controller modules in the trunk, which officers seized for evidence knowing the black-market value of the modules. A positive latent print was also hit on one of the codefendants, according to an affidavit.
