BATON ROUGE — Cat Haven will host two fall events to mark a milestone year for the no-kill adoption center.

The organization, which has saved more than 24,000 cats and kittens since 1999, is holding its annual Cat Tales and Cocktails fundraising gala on Oct. 10 and a grand opening celebration for its new Mid City facility on Oct. 25.

The Cat Tales and Cocktails gala will run from 6 to 9 p.m. at The Crowne Plaza Executive Center in Baton Rouge. Guests are encouraged to come in Halloween costumes and enjoy live music, a live and silent auction, and a costume contest. Tickets are available here.

The grand opening of Cat Haven's new, larger facility at 530 Shadows Lane kicks off with a ribbon-cutting at 1:30 p.m., followed by a community tailgate from 2 to 5 p.m. The new home will include a Cat Cafe.

Themed "Geaux Cats Tailgate: Lions, Tigers and Jaguars, Oh My!," the celebration brings an LSU football tailgate atmosphere to the day. Visitors can tour the new space and meet adoptable cats.
