Fire crews contain early morning fire that started when large tank of flammable liquid ignites in Addis
ADDIS — Early Tuesday morning, West Baton Rouge Parish fire crews worked to contain a fire that started when a large tank of flammable liquid caught fire in the Sugar Mill subdivision in Addis.
According to fire officials, workers were operating a large Acetylene tank when the valve ruptured, causing the pressurized vapor to ignite. Firefighters used hose streams to cool the tank to prevent any further explosion and released all the contents.
After this, the area was rendered safe.
No injuries were reported, and no vehicles were damaged in the area.
The Addis Police Department also responded.
