Baton Rouge SWAT raid results in arrest, seizure of 13 guns, drugs and $20k
BATON ROUGE — A 47-year-old man is facing a long list of charges after detectives and a SWAT team served a search warrant and found drugs, guns and cash at a home along Conley Street.
According to police, Special Investigations Unit detectives and a SWAT team executed the warrant on Conley Street on Sept. 23. Derrick Brown was arrested as a result.
Police say the search turned up multiple drugs, including marijuana, cocaine, methamphetamine, Adderall, morphine, tramadol, hydrocodone, MDMA and MDMA powder. Officers also found $19,817 in cash and a ballistic vest.
Detectives seized 13 guns during the search. Three of those weapons were reported stolen, including a Glock handgun reported stolen through the Baker Police Department, plus a Desert Eagle handgun and a Palmetto Arms multi-caliber rifle, both reported stolen through the Baton Rouge Police Department.
Brown was charged with multiple counts of possession with intent to distribute Schedule I and Schedule II drugs, possession of a firearm with controlled dangerous substances, felon in possession of a firearm, three counts of illegal possession of stolen firearms, unlawful use or possession of body armor and possession of drug paraphernalia.

His criminal history includes prior arrests for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property, felony theft, criminal trespass, illegal carrying of a weapon with controlled dangerous substances and prior drug distribution charges, among others.
