PONCHATOULA - Nearly 7,000 Entergy customers in Tangipahoa Parish are in the dark following Sunday's storms. 

As of 5:30 p.m., 6,964 customers in Tangipahoa Parish were out of power. 

Severe thunderstorms brought strong, gusty winds to the area on Sunday afternoon.
