Tangipahoa Parish president issues burn ban amid dry conditions
AMITE — Tangipahoa Parish President announced a burn ban for residents in the parish on Friday.
The ban is due to extremely dry conditions around the parish and follows a request by the local fire chiefs, according to Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller.
"After talking with the fire chiefs and upon review of the local forecast, we agree that a burn ban is appropriate at this time," Miller said.
